A comprehensive post from Kelper above! However -
Headlamp converters - as I understood the law, the only requirement is 'not to dazzle oncoming drivers' (I stand to be corrected here by a legal expert.). My old 2cv has switchable headlights (from left to right dipping) and I believe a few modern models have caught up with this idea. So no converters needed here!
Radar detection equipment - this does not include sat navs! As regards sat navs, I think Saxo has got the right solution .... but again I stand to be corrected.
Giving way to vehicles joining the road from the right - this does not apply if the road on the right has a 'Stop' or 'Give Way' sign. These signs are usually angled so you can see them from the road that you are travelling on.
Warning triangle, Hi Viz jacket, fire extinguisher, first aid kit, spare bulb set - surely these are all common sense items anyway.
And don't forget the NF approved and marked breathalizers from July!
