The Norman Spirit - the boat that M. Dreyfuss has plied between Pompey and Le Havre for the past several years - is no more!! It has been replaced by the Norman Voyager. I have used this crossing 2 or 3 times a year since it started - after P&O pulled out of the western routes - and whilst the old 'Spirit' was never in it's first flush of youth on this route, I always found it more than adequate - especially as it costs about half of what Brittany Pirates charge. I shall be sampling the 'Voyager' on the 10th June, en route to Le Mans. Del
The Norman Spirit has been leased to DFDS who are using it on the Dover - Calais route this summer. We travelled on it recently, and it was fine, though delayed by SWOT on the Jubilee BH weekend
