For us the Camping Cheques deal would be a much better offer, at £99.00 but including three Camping Cheques worth £42.00 (which we would use), so I'll keep an eye out for the DFDS (and maybe any other) Caravan show offers - but we're not there until the last weekend this year so I doubt I'll be first in with the codes.

Val, we've not been to the NEC before but are going next week - what do you mean by "first in with the codes"?  Do DFDS give out offer codes from their stand?

Yes, they have a stand there, and you can pick up a leaflet with details of the offer from the stand.   You can use the code details, then, to book as many crossings as you wish (or at least up to four which I've done in the past!).

As far as being 'first in with the codes' they are usually shared on forums such as this one, and there's a bit of a competition as to who can post the details first!

Just looking to book a booze-cruise day return for early November:

P&O - £35

Myferry - £35

DFDS - £78........

......and that's the economy!!  Aferry.com are still showing DFDS as £19, but I suggest they have not yet updated to the new fares and T&C's

You need to register for emails with the ferry companies. P&O have email offer day trip+3bottles of wine £24. MyFerryLink sent me an offer that reduces return fares by about £30 for the next few weeks. DFDS usually email offers for summer return trips in Jan/Feb/Mar.

Mmmmm just looked at the exhibitors list for the NEC show.

Clicked on DFDS I quote - "Visit us on stand 20-97 for exclusive offers, available only to show attendees".

Let's hope that's a free biro or something, and not something more sinister with the discount code..............

Let's hope not!  But if they are tightening up on late and early arrivals, who knows?

I'll certainly be camping on UKCS next week in the hope of a code.  If they are really exclusive maybe we can persuade show goers not travelling abroad to get an exclusive code for us?  Keep me in mind if anyone gets one they don't need - or if there's 2 of you going can you get a spare for me please?

I would imagine of the record DFDS are quite happy for the Code to go viral, looks good for the marketing dept, when they present how good the take up was of the offer at the Show, knowing full well of course that 90% of the take up was by virtual Show attendees.

DFDS have always had the same 'exclusive offers only available to show attendees' but unless you actually have to book at the show stand I can see how they can police this.

Sometimes people have guessed what the code might be, or a previous code has worked again.  Let's hope that this carries on and they do make an offer for next year, but if not then I'll be straight on to the Camping Cheques website and booking their £99.00 for a car or £115 for a car and caravan - and if other people book through Camping Cheques, and don't use the Camping Cheques, then there might be some of those available at a discount too!  There will be plenty of people interested!

I've just had a look, Harry but can't find the mention of £58.00 return on the Caravan Club website - and can only see 2012 mentioned.  Any chance you can you post the link?

I've just got 5 day return Dover-Dunkerque for beginning of November with DFDS for £39 which I thought was really good as Eurotunnel was over £100, even for their short stay fare.

We're not camping in November but going to Landal het Vennenbos near Eindhoven in a chalet - having braved a safari tent at Beekse Bergen at Easter, I won't be making that mistake again! Too cold, too wet and I'm a very fairweather camper.

we paid the eurotunnel fare   the weather is a bit of a lottery at that time of year

I tried it, it gave £68 for our (long) van. But when you try to book you get the message Harry got.

There is a note on the ferry page that DFDS are de-doing their booking system, so that is likely the problem.
