Yes! Well I think so, anyway! We've now got a Gold Card (which expires in May!), a Silver Card, and an Alan Rogers Travel Card. Belt and Braces springs to mind!

Well, there are some special offers for Gold Card holders, Camping Cheques last four years on a Gold Card, there are a few freebies and a free booking service, (which we're not likely to use). The Gold Card came about before the Silver Card - but has to be paid for or 'earned' with points for each Camping Cheque site visited. Ours was free at first, but on renewal cost the equivalent of three Camping Cheques. It expires again in May, and given that we've hardly used the 'special offers' - apart from free bike hire once - I thought we might just as well have the Silver Card as it's free!
But we will have to pay £3 for a guide. Not a big price. And since we have not used cheques in the past we will be better of a guide and between ACSI and CC we will have plenty options wherever we go. And I think I saw an admin fee to preload some cheques.

I ordered the card (yesterday) over the phone and hopefully it will arrive sooner rather than later. There was a charge of £6.50 for the pleasure of giving them money!
Even though I phoned them I didn't pay for the card, Val. I only paid the admin fee for loading the cheques that I purchased.
Another advantage of the gold card is the reduced fee when purchasing cheques, not that I'd buy a substantial number of cheques frequently enough to warrant the £40+ Gold Card fee. I think the Gold Card admin fee is about £3.50 per transaction compared to the Silver's current charge of £6.50.

Just saw this thread. I tried to buy Euro cheques on my UK silver card last year but it wouldn't let me: the card number is linked to your post code.
I'm now trying to top up my card on the CC website but they want as much detail from me as if I was booking a ferry. One should be able to log in and buy cheques without further ado, but it doesn't work like that!
I've given up on them and will use my ACSI card!

By CC do you mean Caravan Club or Camping Cheques? I thought it was easy enough to buy Camping Cheques from the Camping Cheques website. Last year we found that the 'it won't accept your British postcode' with regard to the French website is just not true! After much persistence, even including changing my account address to that of a friend with a French house, (and it still not being accepted) I rang back a much more helpful person, who told me that a batch of cards had been printed with the wrong number, so the 'electronics' didn't match up on the French site. She gave me the correct number, which is now written in marker pen, on our card, and thereafter we've been able to use the French site.
However, don't forget now that the price advantage is much less than it was when the exchange rate was better.
Has anyone used the silver card to pay for sites? Do you need to put a pin number in like a debit card? I cant remember putting one on the website when I activated the silver card and I have had a look at personal details on there and theres nothing for a pin number?
