I found this on Google search, and this was only one example of them.For the cost to Cover Your A***and the space needed to carry them,as you can guarantee they will be going after us Brits  just fot the "Joie de vivre" of it.So get your own back show them the packet.(Then in your best Joey Barton accent using "Sun speak" say "Up yours Delores"  Sorry I couldn't resist 24).

I have been seeing them all over. The supermarkets have them and they are by the sweets at the till. I didn't notice how much they are but the ones I bought last year were a couple of euros a packet, so not a huge outlay. As you can drink less alcohol in France than you are allowed to drink in Britain perhaps it would be a good idea to have them and test yourselves occasionally just to see if you would pass. That is my understanding of the idea of them anyway.

No-one is after the Britons unless we have a reputation for excessive drinking which can't be right surely.

Ollie ...it is a Sussex thing ...   everyone else just has 2 triangles.

Thanks for the advice - I'll buy a second one and mount it on a pole taped to the exhaust pipe. Then I'll be covered if I ever get stopped.

Agreed! Fine is only €11 anyway so risk to reward factor probably not worth it for me!

Just been watching "rip off Britain" on BBC1, where they mentioned that breathalysers are now compulsory, along with hi viz vests, warning triangle, it also mentioned that using a sat nav, with speed camera detection on it can end up getting you a hefty fine.

Looking at going to France for the first time, this year, so much to take in...

High viz jacket for driver  (CE marked) are cheap as chips and make sense to keep in car at all times (must be within reach of driver)

Warning triangle plus one for trailer (most cars haev one don't they anwyay?)

Speed camera detection can be tunred off by going to your sat nav website amd following their instructions

Headlamp convertors may be required as rule is you musn't dazzle oncoming drivers, spare presciption glasses if you wear them, spare bulb set recommended as you need to be able to repair a bulb if one goes.

Other things to consider are decent breakdown cover that covers car and trailer.

Loads of info on this site about all of that but most important is to enjoy it all! Sounds worse than it is
