There's another thread with the name of the site as a title..... I think it may be useful to read...... About major building work or pool renovation?

Hi, my friends have just returned from this site and I am familiar with it too, I've been there 11 times, always with Thomson AlFresco/Keycamp/French Life.

The bar that is behind the second lake has been extended, there are now more terraces and comfy sofas, it looks lovely. I'm not sure which bar hosts the kareoke but I can ask my friends (as they went to it last week).

The 'open' touring pitches that face the second lake (near the astroturf pitch) have now got Safari tents permanently pitched on them.My friends didn't see many touring caravans there last week - but maybe the cold weather put people off.

The bowling alley and laser quest are being built next to the existing swimming pool area and it was nowhere near finished last week, apparently the weather had caused delays.

The site is being extended across the road to the land opposite the beauty parlour; a tunnel is being built. My friends didn't say much about this, only that the site will become very big next year. AlFresco are planning to put some mobiles over there.

Does the site have a map on its website? There are plenty of areas I could recommend for touring but I don't know the names of areas - only Allee des Erables and Allee des Hetres (which is where lots of AlFresco mobiles are based). There used to be spaces for tourers in this area, but last year I seem to remember that mobiles were on the vast majority of pitches.

Hope this helps.

Hopefully the extension of the site will be finished by october this year, when we are going in a static.
Thanks for the information. It all sounds very positive to me.

The bar that had the very loud karaoke is the one next to the crazy golf area if that helps. It's where they have the swimming area in the lake etc..

We just got back from CVP - a great site that seems to be getting better every year (this was our 3rd year).

This time, we had a pitch on the 'old' part of the site, a bit past main reception. They were seperated by hedges and designed for 2 caravans at a time (we went with friends) - no drainage problems but it didn't rain either.

Last year, we were by the lake and it rained like mad but we never had any flooding/drainage problems.

The lake with the beach is hugely improved - the water doesn't look like a toxic pool like it did last year  and the beach now goes all the way round. The cafe is even better - the original bit has been covered over fully and they've got a large decking section out the front.

The new pool, LaserQuest and ten-pin bowling alleys are about half-finished in my un-professional opinion - probably be ready for the summer but not sure. Lots of building work going on across the road but I didn't realise it was for the campsite - the site is going to be bloody ginormous when it's finished!

The quality of the food seems to have improved in the restaurants and the staff friendlier - maybe just because it was early season and not very busy.

Finally, I would strongly recommend Parc Asterisx over DisneyLand - half the price, better rides (especially for adults), a dolphin show (plus  a couple of others we didn't get time for) - a great place.

Friends booked a one nighter on the way back from the South of France a couple of days ago, but didn`t stay ..not impressed with the site... so found a smaller campsite elsewhere.
We have memories of keycamping about 15 years ago at this site with children, and we loved it! Sounds like it has got a lot bigger..and I guess we are not looking for the huge all singing and dancing campsites.
I do think its sad when statics take over a lot of these campsites.. changes the whole feel of them. More like prefab land than a campsite....
I remember when...... and we had to whittle a washing up stand before we could light a fire to boil our billy!
grump grump grump!
Enjoy..its a good thing we all love different things!
