Well you have learned something blueexpo97, a Plaza as you call it can also be referred to as a Gallery it makes no difference.
Not all Fast Tag Lanes allow you to pass through at upto 30kmph those that do, have a sign advising that you can pass through at upto 30kmph.
Although all the Fast Tag Lanes that are located at the far Left of the Plaza have a 2m Height Restriction, not all of them allow you to proceed at upto 30kmph, but this is changing as many have now been upgraded to let you pass through at upto 30kmph.
As for there being a TAG only lane for HGV's and Coach's etc, I can't comment because I have never needed to venture over to the Far Right hand side (Slow Lane) of the Plaza, but I do seem to remember seeing the Green TAG logo being displayed over to that side, so I guess that is were over 2m TAG folk go when there are queues at the normal Toll booths that can be used for normal payment, of course all Booths will accept the TAG if your vehicle can fit through!
All clear as mud, but if this helps new folk to the TAG, then all well and good.

Yep, it would appear that the Fast TAG Lane that you can go through at upto 30kmph, is a fairly new concept, probably only first introduced maybe 2 or 3 years ago.
Prior to that all Fast TAG Lanes required you to come to an almost stop before the Bleep sounded and the barrier popped up.
I guess the Fast TAG Lanes that you can go through at upto 30kmph should have a seperate name like, Very Fast TAG Lane.
Or maybe the Fast TAG Lanes that don't let you go through at upto 30kmph should be now named Slow Fast TAG Lane, but that I guess would be to confusing for the French to understand.
I it was probably the case that when the TAG was first introduced, they just had the two lanes at the far left of the Plaza with a 2m height restriction, so that folk could whizz past with there TAG and not have to que at the regular Toll booth, thus was born the name Fast TAG Lane me thinks.
I noticed more so this year, the 2m restricted Fast TAG Lanes that you can go through at upto 30kmph, do have a much longer run in, but it is still a little disconcerting as you barrel towards the barrier which seems to only just pop up in time, with the Beep coming almost as you have gone through the thing.
