How many people will share the driving? Have you got kids ( I assume you have, with a big tent) and are you towing a trailer? All things which affect how far you can drive in a day. There are people who do this drive in one hit, but many who do once vow never again because it is too much.
I do all of our driving, I've 3 kids, and I have a trailer. With that combo, to get to the south coast of France, I would be stopping at least twice overnight in France each way.
If you want to set aside time to find a site when you get down there, I would take a further stopover near to the area so you the have time and energy to look.
