They say 30%, providing it's a "non-promotional" price. So I read that as 30% off their normal price. We've done it 2 years running and AFAIK have paid the normal price.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
Hit mike had a price of bf
Port to st Malo with cabin July 23
St Malo to port aug12 with free cabin
£713 without joining
£507.60+£130 membership fees making the crossing £637.60
for 2 adults 2 children car and caravan.
Cheers Matt. There's an argument for ignoring the one off registration fee (if it's a joining fee only, not repeated in subsequent years). With that, the figures look like:
No membership £713
Membership plus years subs £567.60 (£507.60 plus £60)
which by my reckoning is equivalent to a 28.8% discount. Add in other benefits and it's worth doing. Just waiting for Mrs G to give her consent and I'll be joining/booking.
Have sussed if we go mid-week, can get a huge saving compared to last 2 years sailings on a Friday night

Matt do you mind me asking how you got the free cabin on the return leg? Is it because you joined? Thanks, Dawn.

Yes if you join you get a free cabin on return day time ferries.
By joining the club we are £10 better of than using the code.
So next year we pay £60 annual fee and get 30 per cent of the crossing as we intend to go to france in future years.if you phone bf and ask for quote on the dates you want they can work it to see what is better join the club or use the code.
That's great Thankyou. Phone call tomorrow to discuss options then :) matt, if we don't join, I understand if we use a friends code then that friends gets a £10 credit. Would you share your code maybe? Or am I being cheeky!

Smile/Matt, apologies for chipping in. If you're doing it online, there's a membership box, tick that or say yes, what comes up next includes the friend option, it wants the member surname and a code. Then carry on.

What is considered a good price for a ferry crossing to france for a Car and Caravan in June 14.
Looks around £130 at the moment. Is now a good time to book for next year?
This was a good tip given to me by ValA
If you're looking for ferry prices, make sure you clear the "cookies" stored on you computer.
Otherwise you don't get the lowest prices as the website "remembers" that you've looked before
As an IT person using your cookies is a standard trick used by a lot of web sites especially travel sites to get you to pay more.
For example you log on to look for plane tickets find flights at say £100... you then think will check with the OH go away come back half an hour later and thats strange its gone up £15... And I can;t find the £100 ticket anywhere... oh well
Also worth noting try using someone else's internet connection as some sights can also remember your IP address and apply the same trick... groovy
