They sound very similar to our Italian neighbours on the Med. We've met them several years running, who have a full size fridge/freezer, and as many kitchen gadgets as Argos - including an ice-cream maker. This year they even bought a plastic cupboard as big as a wardrobe, to keep all their foodstuffs in to keep them out of the way of mice!

Well done Val, I had forgot that they also have one of those B&Q esq large plastic cupboards as well.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Ha ha that's what i love about camping! Some people strive to be absolutely minimalistic and others don't!
Val i bet the thick polystyrene worked just as well? I wouldn't be transporting food from England as we love the food in France, i was trying to avoid the daily run to the supermarket as our camper fridge is so small and i wouldnt trust meat or fish in the electric coolboxes! I thought a tiny freezer could ride in the camper and we could chill it down when we arrived on site but perhaps i am making life too complicated! Thats the problem with this cold wet weather, it gives you time to think about camping instead of doing it!

Thanks Kelper, i was going to keep my rose in it! Does your table top make a buzzing noise - i thought it might keep hubby awake (not me- i can sleep through anything!)
No buzzing from ours, and it is right next to our bed ... and Mrs K is very fussy about any extraneous noises!
Many fridges and freezers are rated by a country's average ambient temp ... might be worth thinking about buying a freezer in France/Spain/Italy? Or, if you can afford it .... the Sahara??!

Oh good news especially for Mrs K!
Now thats a thought but electrical appliances seem a lot more expensive abroad, although the trip would be fun!

we have never had trouble keeping freezer in the awning even when very very hot on the med.
Good news bellringer, presumably it is always in the shade?
last year we threaded up a small groundsheet to act as a sun shield, the string helped it to work like a poor man's austrian blind!
