Should last between 5-7 years, or so the bumpf says.

How long do the batteries typically last and where do you replace the unit in France?

Click on any of the balloons on the following link to find the various offices. I called in to the one in Macon a couple of weeks ago and got a couple of extra mounts - free.

Anyway as I discovered on arrival at Chalon-Sur-Saone, you can not exchange your dead SANEF TAG that far South, as you need to be in the North of the country to do that.

Here is a map of the Sanef sales offices. It is the reason we chose to buy from them in the first place because we knew that no matter where we were ultimately going in France we would have to pass by an office at the start of the journey and could get it replaced just to be on the safe side. The most convenient was at the paybooths at Boulogne but they've closed that one now so probably Beauvais this year.

Thanks for that Kenren, going of that map I could have got my dead SANEF TAG exchanged at Reims.

Bad admin on my part, although as far as I am aware both SANEF and APRR offices close at 6pm so it may not always be convenient to visit one along your chosen route.

I will aim to call into the Reims SANEF office next year in July, either going or returning to get my SANEF TAG exchanged, at least that will save me the bother of phoning SANEF France from the UK and posting my dead TAG out to them.

Will have a look now to were the APRR autoroute based offices are, so that I have a copy of both for future reference.

At least I know were the APRR office is at Chalons-Sur-Saone as we always do at least one overnight in a Premiere Classe Hotel there each year.

But you do have to come of at the autoroute exit to find the office, which is located at the Toll booth gallery.

Edit = APRR link

http://www.aprr.fr/fr/services-sur-aires/se-renseigner-s-abonner/vente-telepeage

Found the APRR link for autoroute located offices were you can get your dead APRR TAG exchanged, or pick up a brand new one like I did this last fortnight.

In theory if I arrive at a Fast Tag Lane with a dead TAG like what happend 3 weeks ago, it should just be a simple case of getting my back up TAG out and start using that, then exchange the dead TAG the following year.

Francais, if you click on the pegs in those maps for Sanef and APRR it tells you the opening hours of each office

Yep Ken.
              That's handy info, seems that they all close at different times, I just had a random look and closing times were 4pm 5pm and 8pm it depends on which office it is, but most seem to open from 9am so it looks like the mornings are the best times to visit.
