Kerkyra- Can't find a way to PM you so sorry for the thread hijack, but can you tell me what Sirmione is like in October? We are going this winter for a few days.

What are the must do things? Is there anywhere to ski nearby at that time of year?

If you want snow skiing you'll need to go up Monte Baldo at Malcesine, though I don't think there'll be any snow around as early as October

There are lots of sites around Garda, San Francesco is very good, right on the lake at Desensano,stayed there five years ago, only downside is the pitches are very tight.Another good site is Cisano which is by Bardolino,they have two sites one on each side of the road,the lakeside one has,again, very tight pitches but the other one, on the other side of the road has much bigger pitches,also,the swimming pool is on this site. We stayed there two years ago and had a great time, visited Verona and Venice.
