It depends how soundly you sleep. Doors & windows on older caravans & motorhomes are easy enough to open from the outside quietly with a tool. Its a good idea to hide phones & wallets close to where you are sleeping such as under corner of mattress.

Possibly, maybe, could be because they wanted to get so far along the road on they're journey that they were too late to get in a campsite.

Because some of us just dont like too many campsites.
Ive been wildcamping since I converted my old mans Thames Trader many years back (that shows how old I am).
I sometimes stay on Campsites if I want to stay in an area for a week or so but when travelling around in France just wildcamp.

When wildcamping I run a Truck tie down between the two front door handles. The windows are locked but the top vent open. The rear doors have a neat little bar across both that stops them being opened and the side sliding door is locked. The fridge is in a sealed 'box' and the gas container is vented underneath with a computer fan grill over the inside so nothing can be poked up there.

I always chuckle when MH owners use the term wild camping. An Aire or layby is so wild.
To me wild camping is days from the nearest road or habitation...

It seems odd to me that these people never have the most valuable item any person abroad can have stolen, namely a British passport. Passports fetch high sums of money and yet no one ever seems to lose those - how odd.

You would have to be in Iceland or Norway to achieve that. Or be a very slow walker. I agree with your point though - truly wild places can be reached only on foot ( or I suppose horseback or canoe ).

There can't be many passports left now that aren't biometric so I shouldn't think there is much value in one of those. The user of the forgery would soon be caught when the photo doesn't match the one in the system.
