To be honest, I would say so it's very well run and managed. You are on the Med Coast so that carries a premium, what is also great is that 5 mins walk from site there is the promenade which has some great restaurants and a fab gelato ice cream kiosk.

Downsides are that its not just for families so some nights the music is audible from the pitch, but anyone with teens would love it and the foam party is brilliant. Wifi is best we've ever had in France with over 70 routers around pitches. There's also loads to do in the area with an Aqualand nearby too.

Cheers Fiona. Having just been spoiled with the most outrageously sized fully serviced at RCN (just 42 Euros a night), I think wherever we go next will seem either overpriced or undersized... I've added it to my virtual brochure for a possible next year...

Did you stop overnight on route?

Confused ! Can we keep this thread for discussing les peneyrals in the dordogne please? It seems to have morphed into a thread about a site on the Mediterranean coast ? Ta

Ha get them! Just because you write a post, you don't own the discussion! Ok well peneyrals is great value because it cost us something like €550 for 12 nights, but doesn't have the variety of Sablons. I'd love a multi service pitch in France but they are rare and hard to come by in our experience. With Sablons check out site map then Google Earth as pitch sizes vary so request a selection. Oh same for Peneyrals too, to keep 'on topic' !

The issue is as the search function on this site is so limited - any useful points you make off topic won't be seen in a search.
That may put a bit of context as to why I think its useful when the title is specific to keep it roughly on topic.

Just got back, but didn`t make it to Peneyrals unfortunately. We were planning on going there after Sarlat but the site at Sarlat was a real disappointment (or at least the pitches were) so we pushed on east to Beaulieu instead.
I can thoroughly recommend the sites at Brantome and Beaulieu-sur-Dordogne, (Peyrelevade and Des Iles respectively), in that general area, both nice riverside sites and within a short walk of pretty towns.

Sorry at the risk of getting shouted at again just noticed I missed your overnight question. Yes on the west side we always stop at Le Futuriste, perfect for Peneyrals but for Sablons was a longer 2nd day it would've been much quicker if it wasn't pouring down the whole journey! Great site for an overnighter, has a small pool area with slide, bar, restaurant and takeaway and fresh bread next morning, nice for squeezing the last drop of the hols.
