I'm hoping to go to France with my folding camper in the next couple of years when my wife retires. I would want to take my female GSD but would prefer to stay outside at restaurants or bars with her. I understand that some people don't like dogs near when they're eating or may be afraid of large dogs and I wouldn't want to impose my beloved mutt on them. I'm a smoker but also object to people smoking near me when I'm eating. Having said that I also think dog HATERS have a serious personality disorder.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
My late Father in law spent some years as a Japanese prisoner of war. He became very fond of the dogs we owned but while a prisoner was forced by necessity to eat what ever they could catch. He assured me that dogs and cats taste like they smell.
We had no problems at all with my brothers chocolate lab this year whilst in and around Annecy. Next year, there'll be a lab and a Dalmatian, I don't anticipate any problems (other than wet feet from lab drool)
