Hi monks60,
Are you going to the same place as us?
How long are you there for?

Also, Ile de Noirmoutier is well worth a visit. If you go at low tide, you can drive over the Passage du Gois; otherwise it's over the big bridge. The island is really pretty; not quite as chi chi as Ile de Rč, but charming all the same.
You'll have a great holiday!

Hi jacklisalivyjude

Yes going to the same place as you and staying for 13 nights on the following type of pitch "Privilege Package (caravan or motorhome / 1 car / electricity 12A) + Water point pitch"
Originally was only staying for 10 nights but extended our stay due to another camp we were using for a few nights to split the journey letting us down , The owners of La bretonniere were very helpful and even sent details of the different types of pitches which were shaded or in the sun just one of the requirements on my long list of requirements.

If you are there the same time as us we may bump into each other but i am sure you will have a fantastic time and the weather will be beautiful.

Start counting the days down it will soon be hear

We've booked to stay here for a week in the summer in a static. We like the area having camped at La Garangeoire for 3 weeks a few years ago. However we have a toddler now added to the mix so not camping this year. Might see you there!

Hi, we are doing overnight Plymouth -Roscoff and then having a week in Royan first. We then have the week in the Vendee, one night near Roscoff and then sailing first thing from Roscoff to Plymouth back. We live in the North west so it's much easier to do that than drive to Dover which we did once but never again!

Oh no!! Was Dover a nightmare?
This is our first trip abroad, I'm the lone driver and we are coming from Gateshead (North East)and were thinking leave early doors, Dover for about 13:00, cross over then drive for an hour or so and stop for the night. Do-able or am I Kidding myself do you think?

There's also a place called Grand Defi, it's the french version of Go Ape, but IMO much much better (and cheaper).

http://www.grand-defi.com/en/nature-amusement-park/

It is pretty much next to La Garangeoire and not far from Le Pin Parasol.

We just were stuck in lots of traffic from home to Dover but luckily were overnighting this side so not rushing for a ferry. We have since either gone Hull-Zeebrugge or the west coast Brittany Ferries but then we are starting on the west. I'm not sure what it would be like going your way.

Hi jacklisalivyjude

We are traveling down from near Manchester to Newhaven the ferry leaves around 23.00pm i think to arrive in France "Dieppe" around 5.00am.
Then a one night stay at a small camp called Forestview on D38 between Remalard and Bretoncelles about 3Hour drive from Dieppe then next day after a good rest another 4 hours to La bretonniere, Vendee

Works for us

Re the points made about the Vendee: When you go there it is great, the beaches are good, the weather fair and it is within a comfortable days trip from the western ports. However, once you realise that driving further south is no hassle, you realise that there is much more out there. The Vendee has no beauty other than its coast and that is fine but dare to explore further and you will see what i mean.
