We travel from Turkey to the Uk and are leaving Turkey on the 28th March. Longest day is the first day, some 7 hours, merely because it is difficult to find campsites on the Internet in Turkey so if I can find one that's open all year round close to our route then that's the one I go for.
Other than that we aim for about 5 hours or just over in a day, mind you we have a dog so we think it is unfair to just keep going.
We don't book ferrys or campsites because I don't want a white knuckle drive to get anywhere. Mind you we are retired so it really does not matter to us. As an example in September 2016 there was a Greek ferry strike, we were delayed 3 nights, 4 days. We put the awning up, first time ever, and had a mini holiday in San Marino and Italy. Absolute bliss, age does has its compensations!
I guess the watchword must be always remain in your comfort zone, sometimes you think I'll go a little bit further then you are setting up feeling irritable, is it worth it?
