Can't say we have ever taken fridge requiring food to France.
Always stocked up when we are there.
Nowadays we store the caravan in France, so have solved any such problems completely, as well as saving on caravan ferry costs.
We've a 4 hours drive to Rosscoff, then the ferry, then another 4-5 hour drive to our overnight. With a one year old with us we thought it would be handy for keeping milk and food chilled. See how it goes anyway. No big loss if it doesn't work out.
You'd be surprised how long a decent coolbox or cool bag, if loaded with plastic bottles of frozen water, wrapped in a cloth/towel ... will last ... have been known to do 48 hours ...
Is the op aware that a 3way caravan fridge can only be run on 12v while towing with car engine running? Or does the op have a compressor fridge installed? If he does then that will run on 12v for a couple of days so will last the crossing.

Yeah I think I'll try this.

I have a 3 way but the 12v will run off the caravan battery for about a day or so.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
The op is mistaken. A caravan 3way fridge is not wired to run from caravan battery. It is powered from from car battery only while engine is running. It requires full battery power to operate on 12v. If it was simply connected to caravan battery the fridge would cease to operate in less than an hour.
If a 110Ah battery were fully charged it should run a fridge for a lot longer than 1 hour ,even if the door was left open it should run for at least 4 hours before it reduced the battery to 50% of charge and considerably more if the door is kept closed.
