Planning a 'round', trip Portsmouth to Caen, camp at Fougeres for a few days to watch stage start then up to Roubaix for the 'cobbles'.Problem is cannot book Fougeres Municipal Canpsitr until April 2018.At which time I think they will be inundated with requests.
Any ideas on campsites near Roubaix and which 'pave' sections best to watch?
Returning home via Zeebrugge-Hull!

Can't help with the campsite as when we go over for RVV and P-R we use a gite.
Personally wouldn't head into Roubaix as leaving cars around there is iffy.....understand that Alex Dowsett's Dad's car was broken into this year. It's chaotic, one way systems and with the road closures on race day sat nav is no use....well ours wasn't this year!It was an unplanned trip as one of my son's spent the day with two of Sky's carers on the road.....
However, looking at the pave sectors they are using
(hopefully a link at the end of post) and from those I've seen a few thoughts (in no particular order)...
Tempeluve is fairly short
Mons-en=Pevele is a cracking bit (watched 2017 here) but I don't think they are using the full stretch so not sure, but could well aim for here ourselves.
Bourghelles-Wannehain, is a good length I even cycled on it!
Camphin-en-Pévèle, seen the start of it, campervan heaven during P-R at the far end, shame they aren't continuing on to Carrefour de l'Arbre and Gruson.
I think wherever you pick it would be fabulous.
Did come across this map of 2017 P-R sectors recently https://umap.openstreetmap.fr/fr/map/paris-roubaix-2017-les-secteurs-paves_138457#........ which shows just how close sectors are.
We are planning to stop off at a sector on our way to the Alps for the suffer fest!
