I’d sooner be in the mid 70s in the sun for a shorter day than in the freezing, wet, windy weather we get over here. It’s not that much shorter anyway. Your lifestyle choice is your own. Horses for courses.

I'm sure that's true, and it's a lifestyle choice which I'd like to be open to me in the near future!

We used to go on our two week hols, now can take a bit longer than that (but not the months of time away which some people are able to arrange and fund). We find we live a bit differently when we go for a longer period, probably because the pressure is off.
