Yorkie, check with the Mairie at Nantiat whether they still have their municipal campsite still open for caravans or if it has just become an unstaffed parking for motorhomes. It's no longer listed on the town website.

The only snag with Confolens that might or might not be an issue is the lack of places to eat. You can get fish and chips 5 minutes walk away on certain days but that is about it.

So.... Decided, going to take HarryB' s advice and go to Chateauroux from Tours then down A20 to Limoges for the overnighter,can fill up at the new Leclercs there, sorted,thanks very much for all your suggestions,you are all superstars😀😀

The site at Nantiat (Municipal Les Haches) was open a couple of years ago - but as others say, these things change. If it is still open then it's a good spot for visits to Oradour sur Glane - next time we're passing that way I'll call and have a look but it's a rather large area to devote just to motorhomes......... set on a promontory on a nice little lake.

Nantiat isn't listed in the latest Aire de Servces Camping-Car. But Camping Fréaudour at Lac de Saint-Pardoux isn't too far away from there.
