Sorry, yes I'd forgotten about that.
The ADVANTAGE of being along the southern shore of Garda is the easy access to other regions. Verona, Tuscany, the Ligurian Riviera and of course Milan is much easier form there BUT it is not quite as pretty as the NORTH end.
The other thing to watch is the timings of the ferry around the lake. The lake cruises are WONDERFUL but it is so tempting to stay in a place too long and miss out.
One place you will really enjoy is Malcesine and the cable car up onto the top of MONTE BALDO.....fabulous. Take a picnic and your walking boots and walk back..incredible views. MALCESINE gets really busy, but it is beautiful.
