Stayed on ITalian campsites several times. Admittedly in a ready tent capacity, but brilliant sites. All spotlessly clean and in great locations.
Have stayed at Camping Fabulous in Rome Camping Albatross in Tuscany and Camping le Capanne in Tuscany. Good sized pitches, spotless facilities. Highly recommend

We stayed on Lago Maggiore last year and loved it. Conca D'oro was he name of the campsite. It wasn't the cheapest holiday but the front row view lives with me still.

Hi warbis66, can you tell me does camping fabulous have good public transportation into Roma. I have seen that there are bus stops close by.
Cheers

Yes, very easy, you get a public bus at the end of the road (about 5 mins walk) that takes you to the end of the metro line, you then get the metro in, which goes to the Vatican etc
