At the moment they won't let you in. The French borders are closed at least until 15th June 2020.

Even if France let you in you would have to go into quarantine for 14 days on returning to the UK.

I wonder if quarantine on arrival is something France might also stipulate?

The French have excluded the UK from their quarantine requirements.

Hi Pixie Hez. I’m certain the deadline means that you can claim a refund if you don’t use the credit by that date. We were supposed to be going to Duinrell in a couple of weeks but Eurocamp sent an email with a refund credit saying we can claim a cash refund if we haven’t used the credit by 31 March. We’ve just rebooked for April next year.

Like to hear more opinions about how people feel about travelling if restrictions are lifted a bit as it's always good to get a different perspective to when you get hunkered down in your own space and irrationality sets in!!

Well, FWIW, I'll err on the side of caution. Just because we'll be told at some point we can travel to, say, France, I won't be one of the first to get across there! I realise that at some point we'll have to get on with our lives again, to some degree, but until we get a vaccine I doubt we'll be going abroad. Travel insurance will be "interesting" too. We had, still have actually until the end of this week, annual cover from the Caravan Club (CAMC as it is now). The renewal notice came a couple of weeks ago, and it was very clearly stated that there will be no cover for Covid-19.

We're hoping to be able to go again sometime next year, as we really miss not being there now!

Following his speech, No 10 confirmed a reciprocal deal with the government in Paris meant restrictions would not apply to passengers from France.

In a joint statement, the UK and French governments said they had agreed to "work together in taking forward appropriate border measures", adding: "This co-operation is particularly necessary for the management of our common border."

The statement added: "No quarantine measures would apply to travellers coming from France at this stage; any measures on either side would be taken in a concerted and reciprocal manner.

The French have already said that quarantine arrangements won't apply to people from the Schengen area, or from the UK. So I would guess that when we're free to travel we can go backwards and forwards a normal! Watch this space!

Just as French tourists will be allowed to visit England without quarantine stipulations. Bet they can't wait!

After May 11 the partial easing of restrictions does not yet allow tourism.

You can only move around and travel distances if going to your primary residence

(«Le déplacement vers une résidence secondaire ne correspond pas à un motif impérieux.»)   Liberation 12/05/2020

So a campsite hardly qualifies as primary residence

Brittany Ferries cancelled up to and including the 15th of June next update 16th May. As we are due to travel on the 19th June it’s looking like it won’t happen for us.
It also states bf have asked France for a loan , maybe they are struggling too. 2021 sailings can be booked in July .
