Yes, my account is linked to my Nationwide Visa c/c. If you haven`t decided which tag to go for, I use ATMB and they send me a bill at the end of the month of use, and bill my card at the end of the following month. It is worth looking at their website regularly as they often have a special offer with no set-up fees, just the postage for the tag.

I've got this one too, you only pay for the month you use it , no annual fees

Now you have just got to wait for that "will it or won`t it" moment when you approach the barrier for the first time.

We always use the non-stop 30kmh lanes not because it is quicker (because it is) but because of the effect it has on vehicles following behind scrambling to quickly change lanes in the expectation that we’ll be stopped and block the lane. The look of astonishment when we sail through unhindered is priceless 😈

Even nicer for us towing a Silver 420, which is only 1.98 metres and passes under the barrier on the 30kph lane.

Best of all was when a Dutch outfit, which had been tailgating us for miles miles, realised that not only were they in the wrong lane, but their caravan would not clear the upper barrier.

That petty victory kept us amused for days

I love those lanes....so long as the tag works!

We always use a stopping lane at the first peage we go through, just in case the tag doesn't work and then head for the non-stop lanes after that.

But we came a cropper on our first trip last year when the barrier in the 30kph lane didn't raise and we had to stop and reverse out (luckily it wasn't busy!). The tag worked fine on the next lane over (tag lane but the stopping version) so it must have been the sensor in the 30kph lane which was faulty. Not a fun experience and it took us a few days before we got the courage up to go through the non-stop lane again.

ATMB here too... However, a note of caution. We got into a mix up with not receiving bills and ended up having a debt collection agency come after us for a bill that was a only a few euros. It cost us about 70 in the end.

But we rejoined without any problem lol!.

I make sure the bills are checked when we use it now...

If we haven't used it for a while we also roll up to a card booth first and if it beeps ok then we use the 30kph lanes after that brilliant. However not when we're towing

Our tag arrived this morning, spent about half an hour Google translating the instructions to make sure I didn't do anything wrong. Can't wait to try it now but will try a card lane first🤔🙄
Thanks everyone

Good luck with it, I must say we did exactly the same the first time we used ours. We both held our breath, waited for what seemed to be forever before hearing the reassuring beep followed by audible sighs of relief from us as the barrier raised.

Thanks everyone for their input. I've done the deed with ATMB linked to my Halifax credit card.
Can't wait to go now.
Keith

For your first experience, choose a tollbooth that has both the "t" symbol and the bank card symbol, just in case.

I can assure you, unfortunately from experience, that reversing the caravan out of the booth lane to go to another booth,is not much fun.

OH, how we laugh now!
Happened to me once...
