Eurotunnel is the answer for anyone who suffers seasickness as badly as my OH. But, the new pricing structure makes it prohibitive for us now (towing a trailer doubles the already super-inflated price).

Without the option of FT tickets, we won't be able to go back to France in a hurry.

I don't suppose there are many outstanding FT crossings left out there, and they expire at the end of this year.

What a shame it is.

I bought a P&O season ticket last year as Eurotunnel had stopped the Frequent Traveller tickets, I also only had to buy 3 return journeys. If the FT tickets have been stopped permanently, Eurotunnel have really shot themselves in the foot.

Thanks. Do they have to be used in 12 months, or any restrictions like that?

Yes, they last 12 months and are fully flexible, you can change/amend bookings any time.

And if you buy one of the bigger packages you can share them with someone else.

I know this is a long-shot but, if any kind person on here has a couple of Frequent Traveller crossings that you're unable to use, I'd very much appreciate if you'd consider selling them to me as a Nominated Person on your FT account.

You can contact me at: liddenham (at) hotmail.com

Many thanks.

Any takers, please?

Off on ET in a few weeks time.
Super inflated is an understatement, last crossed in Late 2020 at £160 return, now the price is around £250 ! We may book with the ferry as sea sickness isn’t a problem for us,but even they have rocketed in price with Irish Ferries seeing to be the cheapest at around £150 return ( car only of course )

We booked ET using Tesco vouchers, knocked a considerable amount off. But yes, it is quite a bit more expensive now.

Just chatted to a couple on our site last night who had done the midnight Newhaven route for £165 return whereas we were nearly £400 for our van, dog and us return on Eurotunnel. We did manage to use £100 of Tesco vouchers which reduced it to £300 but it is a lot of money.

Trouble with Newhaven - Dieppe route for us is the sea 😫.

Let's hope Eurotunnel remember their loyal customer base and reverse their decision on FT accounts...

I`m keeping my fingers crossed for that too.

Yes, return price when towing is now the equivalent - or more than - the previous cost of the minimum 10 FT single crossings.

With increased fuel prices, it's an expensive do (we did 4000 miles this year on a single trip).

It's just priced a second trip out of the question for us this year. Looking forward to next year though!

We're in France at the moment, and fuel is considerably cheaper than in the UK. Paid €1.64 for a litre of diesel today (ok, just over €80 for a full tank). But considerably cheaper than the UK, where we paid nearly £1.80 a litre just before coming to France. Must say that I think a lot of food is more expensive than the UK, bananas, onions, peppers, potatoes, just to mention a few. But guess what? The wine is consideraby cheaper, quelle surprise! And campsites so far are also cheaper still, long may it continue.
