I would imagine with the high temperatures that have been seen across France and appear to continue, there will soon be huge swathes of the country where a critair sticker will be required.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

I think Rouen now has a low emissions zone, if so you will need the air critique sticker.

When I applied for my sticker earlier this year Rouen only required stickers for commercial vehicles, but it looks like from September 1, 2022 ALL vehicles including private ones will now require a sticker (if your car meets the standards, otherwise it'll be banned from the zone).

To be clear. The main route through Rouen going south that is A28 over bridge & along main ring road on the right side of river is not included in the emission zone.

Search App Store Green-Zones app. Very useful. Has map of all emission zones. Enlarge the Rouen map you will see main through route as indicated above is not in emission zone although all roads off that route are.

Ah! Very helpful, Billy... thanks! (Assuming I've understood you correctly!)

I've had the crit air sticker (Yellow/2) a while, but literally just downloaded the mobile app, and finding my way around it.

So the E402/E46/Ave Du Grand Cours shows as a thin white line (when zoomed in far enough) through a green zone, hence you stating it shows as exempt. Is that right?

Looks like I'll be passing through a few more zones en route to SW (Towards Capbreton, from Tunnel) next month.

Is there a way of plotting a route on there, as it's ok having a long list of zones, but not knowing whether your route passes through or skims just outside any of those zones listed doesn't help!
EG: From the list, I know Annecy is far East, and no concern to me for my coming trip. No idea where Chambéry is, so do I click on there, zoom out, and see whether I'm likely to go anywhere near? Repeat for all listed zones that I've never heard of, or don't know where they are? That seems awfully tedious, and not at all conducive to holiday mode!

It's not looking like a problem for now, as all zones anywhere near my (approximate) route are all showing green/good to go for my vehicle. I'm thinking more for the future/next year. How to use this app to maximum effect.

I'm getting the impression that I'll be needing to click on the app every 20 mins en route, to see if I'm ok where I am... and if not, get the hell out of there before I get fined! Very much horse/stable door/bolt etc? Surely that can't be right? I assume there's a better way, and I haven't found it yet!

I note the likes of Marseille, Lyon etc are currently showing amber, so could change in the coming days, but they're not even close to where I'm going, so again, not a concern to me at present.

Sorry Billy... just thinking out loud here... not aimed at you directly, and certainly not demanding you are responsible for my education of these matters!

I don’t think you need to plot a route if you have a modern car with a class 1 or 2 sticker. You just need the sticker in your windscreen. Looking at the map there are small areas ie cities where sticker is compulsory & there are large areas where it might be if levels are high enough.

That was the sort of response I was hoping for in all honesty.
Little to no chance of the newer models ever being banned from an area (in the foreseeable, that is!), I'd assumed.

I take it those with older vehicles or no sticker are the ones that need to do more homework, and be careful when and where they go? Suits me.

The last few posts have been most helpful.
Thanks again.
