We are in Bordeaux and it is 16 deg and hissing down. We are due to move on in a couple of days, but need to be going North. We have hailstone damage to a couple of skylights, but seem to have managed a temporary fix. If the weather was good it wouldn't be a problem at all!
I've learned my lesson anyway. We are only here because our son flew in to join us and I consequently booked a site to make sure we met him ok. We never usually book ahead and will revert to our usual plan in future.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We're now near Frejus; arrived today in 32 degree heat then sweltered as we spent ages checking out new campsites (had hoped to find a new gem) but ended up at an old favourite.
Anyone else from UKCS down here at the moment? Do have any site recommendations? We wanted a change of scenery and it seems only the south is dependably sunny at the moment.
I think that nice weather is forecast to be wider-spread from Tuesday onwards.

The driving force was the mother who is probably retired in some form.
I have not been there since son Philipe became fully in charge, but Francais continued there very happily
edit Just noticed you went there in 2016 and weren't impressed

Stayed at Camping Du Paradis in September, just south of Saint Aygulf, just across the road from the beach, no pool, a small spar type shop sells bread and essentials. An acsi site

Thanks for that, it's appreciated. We actually checked that site out yesterday and it's one we've earmarked for next time.

The forecast for Fréjus today was storms, morning and afternoon. We enjoyed 32 degrees until mid afternoon so were pooh-poohing Meteo... then the black clouds rolled in and the Big Daddy of all storms ensued, complete with explosive thunderclaps and fork lightning!
The storm then passed over and we went outside to have dinner.
I believe the south-west coast basked in sunshine all day...
Who else is here, and what's the weather like where you are?
It's forecast to be around 18 in Loire today but dry then getting warmer again. It was sunny and 24 ish yesterday so we decided to stay another week at Montreuil Bellay.
The site has emptied out a bit today so a fair few touring places.

Greetings Happy Campers
The Loire is a lovely long river and we are delighted that the Western end is dry. The forecast for Gien was for rain today and it was perfectly accurate. It started at about 5.30 and continues as I write. However the forecast is as they say 'set fair for France ' tomorrow (at least this bit). Hey-ho where's the fridge?

Six years on and our tastes have changed... that's where we are now, and very peaceful it is too.

It was cool last night so we sat in the van. This morning was showery and cool but the sun has returned and we are drying our washing!
We had a cold beer in the sun at the bar.
Weather forecast to be getting warmer, dry and up to 28 at the weekend and next week.
Lovely and peaceful, site not full.
