I would think about what kind of weather you want and what activities you like. I love the heat and the beautiful colours of the cote d`azur, but it is very busy in high season. I love the white water sports, hot days and cool nights of the Ardeche and the Gorge de Verdon, again busy in high season. The Alps both in Summer, and winter for the skiing, are spectacular, and even in high season you can fairly readily escape the worst of the crowds. The foothills of the Pyranese have their own unique charm and the Atlantic coast can change so rapidly from gentle and calm, to wild and savage depending on the weather. There are lots of other nice areas of France too, like the Morvan National Park, in more central areas of France. You don`t see many tourists in these areas other than the French themselves. Plenty of choices, you could perhaps say spoilt for choice. Have fun where ever you go!

i personally think it's very hard to decide which part of
France you would prefer when you decide to move here
permantley.Holidays are wonderful to see different parts
of the country, but you have to consider what you will
do when you arrive in your chosen area. Will you be
working or retired?I hope i'm not putting you off by writing
this,my OH is an artisian,so has found work easily, but
that may not be the same for all.If you do decide on The
Loire,pop in for a cuppa,and a chat !!!!!
