We run an accommodation business and up to recently we didn't take deposits we now do and they are non refundable. The reason being we had 5 no shows in one week and the income lost ran to about £500. A business the size of ours cannot sustain that kind of loss hence the change of mind!!
I agree though if it is in the terms and conditions that they will refund you they should and you should persue it! Maybe its just come over in the translation incorrectly but even so sounds like they should be refunding you. Can't you scan a copy of the terms to them highlight the section and e mail it back and say you are taking the matter further.
