Paul Camping de la Filature was only half an hour from Clermont if that is any help, and all motorway at that.  Easy peasy run down and we'd certainly go back to the site given half a chance.

Les Domes gets a good review here http://www.eurocampings.co.uk/en/europe/france/auvergne/puy-de-dome/campsite-les-domes-103867/ but pitches seem quite small if your tent is large.   We are going to  Le Pre Bas at Lac Chambon at Murol in June.

Thanks but that's a different site!  However, it looks very good and we shall be going to the Puys after Clermont so shall be pleased to have suggestions for that area ....

Thanks Ali. However, we'll be going from St Pourcainsur-Sioule which isn't a lot further away than Ebreuil from Clermont. We were looking for a couple of days within walking/bus distance of Clermont before going further south ....
