That's a fabulous photo Val.
As I said, it's the Tourist Information Office! There's another wheel further downstream. Actually it's a really nice (but short) walk up and down the length of the river...it's completely built up on both sides with tumbledown old houses and you can see the platforms for doing the laundry or tying up boats etc. Very picturesqe.
I found the picture of Gen Eisenhower's statue at the approach to Bayeaux. There's a parking place about 100 yards from it where you can stop and get a picture.

What tent are you taking? The Sun Valley? We're taking the old Camargue. (See profile pix.)
Hi Val
lol how can you have missed my many references to the new Athena - it had to happen sooner or later. So, we'll be in canvas for the first time ever.
Just made a last minute change, Norfolk lines have a fantastic last minute on from Rosyth on specific dates. Going from there at 5pm the day before we intended leaving at the crack of dawn - cost £60 for the 3 of us just on the outward journey, we're actually saving money on diesel. Leave Tues 13th now.
I'll post the offer on a new thread.
ps I have an email address is in my profile

Lol...I get completely confused as to who's got which Cabanon these days. Everyone but me, it seems! (Except the Camargue is an honorary Cabanon as it's got CGI canvas.)
Nice cool tent for the heat though. Have you seen the forecasts? It was 33'C in Bayeux yesterday!
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

Yes and in the other two places we are due to visit.. it was 24c in Saarburg at 1am. I'm taking a couple of cotton sheets just in case that's all we'll need lol.The Athena was a bargain, I found it in a private ad it's nine years old, used once, though you can't tell it's ever been used, the rubbers weren't stretched and all the tapes were flat as if they had never been tied. Cost £180 plus a courier charge, I'm one happy bunny.
pics here
Meant to add the difference in distance from Zeebrugge rather than Dunkirk to our first site is only 6 miles.
