& I was talking about the same place, I've just googled it & seen the pics.
There's a nice little farm site just up the road (go through Le Bugue towards Campagne, where you hang a left, then just after an "S" bend you'll find...) Le Qualou (spelling doubtful), only 6€ per person per night, which made it very agreeable for me.
Yes, it's Les Ceriselles! Positives are free wifi( was 5€ for sixty minutes at La Grappe D'Or)and 11€ a night with the Acsi card though it takes camping cheques too. OH has managed to get a tv picture too though I see that as a negative. Expecting it to be 24 degrees today according to meteo, just how I like it so we're going to have a poke around Chablis.
Jill...I do miss all that space we had at Lac D'Orient and Poppy definitely misses her swim in the lake though there's a canal her she's already managed to jump into! Sorry you're back at work already!
We did loads of tours round Spain, Italy & France, beginning in late May usually, and we were stared at by other inmates because we were Brits!
I don't think it was because we had grown two heads
Ah! Lucky people in France now...we spent 5 weeks cycling the canals in Burgundy in July/August when it was Very Hot. We saw hardly any other British people which was brilliant as it gave me a chance to practice my French!
------------- Life's not a rehearsal..don't put it off DO IT NOW!
We just got back today from the Cote d'Azur, and saw very few brits at any of the 10 or so sites we used, apart from Guines, which is the collection yard for the tunnel/ferries. Not many on our trip in spring either, Dordogne and Atlantic coast.
We seldom have English-speakers in the camps we visit but what was striking this year when we were heading north on the weekend of 14th August was that 99% of those travelling South to North were French while 95% of those heading south had GB or NL stickers! I suspect that most British travellers have fixed weeks for their holidays so camps might have a lot of them one week and none the next?
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
