No, its just that if you know there is going to be trouble why ask for advice about whether or not to travel that route. Or to use your M6 example, I live in the North West, I know the M6 is always congested so I never use it. I don't need telling not to use it.
Me, I'm not so sure about Calais. The French seem to be trying to move them on .... to Belgium? Holland? Western routes? Damned if I know - crystal ball time.

If it is any consolation, we having been using Dunkerque for the last 10+ years and have yet to see any illegal immigrants.

It is a bit annoying as I was going to offer places for them, at a suitable cost. Could have paid for the holiday that way

Tesco Voucher arguments aside, has anyone noticed that the tunnel prices have increased substantially this year? I'm poised to book our crossing in June, however a couple of days ago the price was £425 (before taking off the Tesco vouchers and including our 3 dogs) for car and caravan, as opposed to last year when it was £302 or thereabouts. Can't think what has happened. Same time of year, same approximate time of crossings, similar time of booking. Is it Euro 2016? It is making the ferries look much cheaper. £270 for DFDS Dover to Dunkirk or £345 for P&O Dover to Calais - although Val posted that P&O are doing a 'dogs go free' offer which wasn't on that quote so that would bring it down to under £300.
After reading the posts on here about delays I would hate to have a 7 hour delay with our three doggies in the car. we're travelling late night/early morning on Sat/Sun on both crossings to hopefully avoid this - and M6 horrors. What makes me want to stick with the tunnel is this.....
The worst delay we ever experienced was on DFDS in 2012 when the ferry sat a mile off Dover on the return journey for nearly two hours in v heavy seas. All because the sister ferry leaving Dover couldn't get off its berth because of high winds. Ferry staff closed down the shutters on the shop, bar, cafe and restaurant and all disappeared. No announcements until we set off again. People were being sick all over the boat. You couldn't stand up or walk. We sat in a stairwell to get away from the smell and said 'never ever again'! I think I'll keep that in mind and just book the tunnel!

We booked the Tunnel at roughly the same time as last year, out June back July, and the price difference was £42. Oh and of course the dog was up a £1 each way.

XVI yes?

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
