Hi Stuart, having been there and got the "T" Shirt, what happens if there is no Beep, and the barrier stays resolutely down this is what you do.
Hazards on, get out of car, on the Left Hand side near the Barrier is a machine, press the intercom button, and you imideatley have dialogue with an operative, then you see a regular ticket emerge from the machine, take that and Barrier goes up, and you are then on your way.
Remember this is the Fast Left Hand Tag lane, so it is not manned, so it would not be possible to get your Tag scanned in such a scenario.
It will never happen to me again, as I now have a belt and braces Tag arrangement.
The long que of not so happy drivers stuck behind me, had obviously thought that I had gone into the wrong lane, Mrs Francais thought it was nice that they were all waving to us, although the gesture that was being made, was not quite that!
