It's bit like Fuel charges, if you are going to keep an eye on them all you will do is bother yourself.

Do I need a Motor Vehicle - YES then I need fuel, no matter the cost.

Do I need Euro's for holidays - YES then I need euro's no matter the rate.

Do I need holidays - YES, does the UK qualify as a holiday Huge Big NO. Break yes but relaxing holiday requires the sun.

Simples.

I am with Peter.

An ex work colleague is obsessed with fuel consumption, what do you get out of yours, what he is getting.....Blah blah blah. By the way, he does not need to worry about money!

I have no idea what my car or my pick up returns, when it gets low I fill it up. If it bothered me I would sell them both and get a 1.1 Ford Fiesta, but I like my 2.5 Pick up and 2.0 tow car, and detest small cars. My choice, so no point in me moaning.

Same with foreign holidays, we have absolutely no interest or intention to holiday here, it ain't no cheaper anyway.....Keep smiling. 👍😀👍😀

Cheap enough in Lidl in Holland. You could change their € prices to £ prices & they would be no different to UK. It is unlikely that prices will ever be much different because prices will rise in UK if exchange rate gets worse. It seems to have now stabilised at 90p to 1€.

Whilst I agree with others who have said they will holiday regardless, the poor exchange rate will affect our holiday, as we will only have the same amount of sterling to spend, so will have to cut our cloth accordingly. We don't spend recklessly when away, but do like to eat out occasionally, but will probably have to cut that down. It's not making me feel like holidaying in the UK any more than previously (we have boooked a U.K. Trip for Whit, as last year, but that's because kids are mid-exams) but it will make things tight if we are getting £1 to €1.

I've bought our Aussie dollars for Easter in case it all goes Pete Tong, especially if the official Brexit starts at the end of March, a whisker before we head off.

It depends on whether you have always relied on the continent being cheaper than UK. If you have then that might affect you but have you checked campite & restaurant prices in Cornwall or any other popular tourist areas of UK?

If trippers perceive that continent is now expensive & 'staycations' are more popular next yr then UK prices will rise so my guess is continent will never become more expensive than UK for campers/caravanners spending patterns.

Oh I know, we looked at a cottage in Cornwall in the summer and decent ones were two grand a week. Last summer we got a gorgeous gite in a stonking location in the dordogne, with a private pool, for less than that for a fortnight. Next summer we have another gorgeous gite, with a pool with views across to Mont Ventoux, again for less than a week in a coastal Cornish cottage. And even with travel and spends, it's still cheaper than a 2 week package for 5 somewhere hot.

We will still go for a month or two in low season, using ACSI where we can, just have to adjust our spending.

We'll still go, we've always gone. But we might have a few more holidays outside the Eurozone. No idea where! Surely somewhere will be 'cheap' for us? Ideas?

Thanks everyone for your positive responses.

Couldn't stand to have our main hols in the Uk like you say it is more expensive and weather dubious too.

We go before the school hols in July and use the ACSI card too, plus the tag so we can delay that cost.

Feel much happier about it now cheers everyone xx

We are still going to do our France trip in July as per normal, but the 2nd trip to Holland is off as we simply can't afford it, so its either a uk site or nothing. Cant do anything about it so am not going to let it worry us.
