How fabulous. Hard work ahead but oh so worth it.
We know a couple who did this and it is really successful and in a really obscure area. In fact we don't like the area but loved the campsite. Le Moulin de geneste
The best places have a mix of glamping, tents, motorhomes and caravans. We tend to avoid places with permanent caravans but that's us.
We are not in the caravan club probably because we don't have a caravan. We NEVER look at books but we go on recommendations from this website and rely on 'google'.
A website will sell it. Some websites are all singing and all dancing and do not deliver. I feel sure you will find the right balance.
One of our favourites is 'Le Premier Pres', Savigny Les Beaune. There are other sites but they just haven't got the 'Je ne sais quoi' Burgundy is great it's a halfway house for us, be it Provence or the Alps. Not too commercial and it attracts a real cross section of people. I can think of nothing worse than being with a load of Brits for the duration of the stay.
Bon chance, I wish you every success.
