No brainer for me, being a company car driver, they provide me with a continental RAC travel pack, insurance, VE103B and V5 doc's etc, so will get them to sort out a Crit-Air sticker for me as well.

So will cost me nowt, but at least the Crit-Air sticker will be there just in case, who knows which French towns and cities will be added in the future.

Just had a stroll from Montparnasse down to the Seine. Pretty much every parked car we passed had a sticker. Ok central Paris but just saying...

I suppose kenren's point is, the french are not ignoring it ... at least in central Paris ...

So, if anyone is planning to drive in ... you have been warned ...

I noticed there was a public information board just outside the Bastille metro station saying it was compulsory to have one. I didn't have time to see if it went into details for who exactly though.

We got he train into Paris this morning from Creil. (We went to the tennis. Watched Kyle Edmund have a brilliant win).

Anyway there is a massive open air commuter car park next to the station and although Creil is in Picardy a good 50 km from Paris I'd say a good 60% of the vehicles we passed had stickers - and it was a long walk!

I think for once the French are taking this seriously

I think the regulations are quite precise about affixing to the lower right corner of your windscreen - although as I won't / can't have one I didn't read too carefully by that stage!

Mart, did they ever do a Diesel 2CV, and is it true that you can only flip them over in reverse!

I would imagine you can go anywhere in France with a 2CV, the vehicle is almost sacred I would have thought.

Never a diesel ... several engines over the 42 years of production starting at 375cc . Mine is an almighty 602cc.

Citroen once offered a cash prize to anyone who could turn it over in a forward gear. Angles of lean (particularly the older models) however can make it easy to pick roadside daisies on the move.

Emissions from a 2cv are remarkably low due to the engine design but you can't get a Crit'air sticker solely due to the age. Although I believe the company that uses them for tourist trips in Paris is exempt.

Driving a French icon in France is really good fun and I've chatted to many interesting people as a result including a lengthy talk in Rouen a few years back with an old guy who was involved in the design of the bodywork! Having attended many classic car meetings in France I know the same applies to drivers of other old French cars.

We are in France at the moment. We can't get a sticker for our MGBGT.. Nor could the majority of the 800 ish cars that were "parading" around Laon today.. By 5pm the air was definitely patrol flavoured.. Fun Fun Fun.
