We arrived on Saturday expecting campsites to be quiet, the roads have been very quiet but the campsites busier than July/August, is everyone finding the same? Lovely to be here 😊

We have been here for over 2 weeks now and have found all the sites we use very quiet, with the exception of Chagny which was full by 4.00 pm on the 3 nights we were there.

I was talking to a man who had just returned from Hungary, when he arrived at Calais, due to traffic problems, he was an hour late an. was refused passage as the time on his test was ! hour out of time.He had to arrange another test and by the time that was done his ticket had expired and he had to buy a new one.
They never checked his locator form or his vaccination status on arrival in the UK.

They don’t check a Passenger Locator Form as you physically don’t have one, when they scan your passport they can see if it’s filled in.

XVI yes?

As well is two words!

Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

Not our experience with the Tunnel.

Ours were filled in correctly, but we were called into the Terminal building to the 'Covid desk', and had to show the Passenger Locator forms on the iphone. The rules do say that you have to have 'supporting paperwork'. This was from check in, we were given a temporary 'hangar' and sent to the Covid desk. OH reckons we were unlucky as most other Brits went straight through. They also pulled us over for a 'van check, which was very brief. We thought we would never get away. However that was the last of the checking. Just the Day 2 tests which we have now done and sent off.

We’re heading back tomorrow morning - passenger locator was tedious to fill in, but PCR tests were done at our second last campsite - the wonderful Chateau de Chanteloup - and then celebrated with a beer! It’s been amazing and so worth the anxiety and the bit of hassle, even if three days of 34deg in the Dordogne were a bit much for my OH who is not in great health. All campsites were pretty busy - Olivet was full, but then the nearby municipal has closed - with the exception of Chanteloup which is not normally open in Sept.

We were really excited to finally be back in France - the dogs (on their first visit) don’t see what all the fuss is about!
