Iseo is the least commercial lake of that bunch ... some nice campsites, too.

Iseo is on my list too, it again looks beautiful. When I looked last year, the site I liked had a weight limit on dogs they allowed, so we couldn't go as ours was over the limit. Tiny dogs only I'd say. I'll save it for when the kids stay at home and can look after the dog. Goodness, what a cheap holiday that will be!

We stayed at Camping La Ca near Padenghe sul Garda last year at the end of May and the beginning of June. Quite a nice site but it is terraced with a difficult access to some pitches. I found it best to have a lake level pitch.
We travelled with our caravan from Harwich to Hook, stopping at Delft, and then via Germany (the Eifel, Wertheim and Regensberg) to Austria (Linz and Graz) and then on to Slovenia (Ljubljana and Ankaran) before travelling to Lake Garda. The distance between stops was about 150 to 200 miles.
The return was by way of the Brenner Pass to Innesbruck (camping at Weer), then Germany (Camping Cap Rotach at Friedrickshaven - Very expensive! - 42 euros per night), Nancy in France (very cheap! - 18 euros per night), Maastricht and then Delft (again) in Holland.
Altogether an eight week trip.
Just a comment, when travelling to and from Lake Garda, avoid the week-ends as there is a German holiday at the end of May (Whitsuntide?) and the Brenner motorway gets very crowded. It took us 7 hours to travel the 200 miles from Padenghe to Weer with lots of stop-starts at every junction.

We stayed at Camping Lido Sassabanek a long time ago, weird that the pitches were arranged in circles like a dartboard. Cars were left in carpark. We were looking at Camping Covelo for about a week end of may, making our way back from Florence.
