Hi,

I work for Driveline and heard this offer had been mentioned on this forum. Just wanted to update you to avoid anyone being disappointed.

Unfortunately the offer is not valid for caravans or motorhomes. A system error on the booking engine meant some caravans and motorhomes etc. got lucky and were booked on the deal but this has now been fixed and this is no longer available.

I have just been back onto the Saga/Driveline website and put in details applicable to my own holiday albeit without the caravan. They were asking £55 return for a car + 2 passengers whereas P and O were asking £90 for the same day (and not as good times). This site, although now scuppered for us 'vanners and motorvanners may still be of use for the car driver (or perhaps someone accompanying a vanner.)

If you have a deal that isn't as good as the above deal for Petes sake dont go ringing P and O up demanding your money back. They might close this one and leave it only to foot passengers!!!!!

I don't know how long the offer had been up and running. I discovered it on Friday and booked immediately. Not sure you should blame those that raised the issue with the Carvan Club when they genuinely thought they had been overcharged. By the law of averages they would have found out sooner or later and corrected the error.

It is still very cheap for cars (roof boxes). I booked last night for 2 weeks end of July / start of August - £45.89

I suppose I can accept that it was my enquiries to The CC that maybe, as you say,'got this deal scuppered'. However, I didn't ask for my money back. I was wanting to know why The CC was £35 more and yes, maybe get a price match. Isn't it typically British to want to know why someone has got an identical offer for a lot less money. The majority of people would do exactly the same.

I have today booked a P&O crossing back to the UK for one of our campers onsite.

They want to go home on Wed's in their 36ft US RV so its a one way trip.

I managed to get a price of £70.00

Our customer is happy and so is his wife & 2 kids & 2 dogs...

We have caravan Just over 7metres in length and we are 2 adults and 2 teens.

Have just read in another forum that this was a mistake!   Offer was not meant to cover caravans or motorhomes!!.  They will I believe honour the bookings of those quick enough to spot this.   I didnt!!
