sorry I didnt respond to the earlier advice which I requested, but I am now in 'sunny' spain and can give you a first hand weather comparison of west coast of France versus North East Spain. In our experience last week near La Rochelle, it was very hit and miss and after similar weather last year we will be skipping the West coast of France next time.
You maybe wondering why I am writing this instead of sitting in the sun?, well although the weather is better here near escala, it has been very cloudy for each of the 2 mornings we have been here. When it cleared up yesterday, it was beautiful!.
I will be writing more about my observations of trying to get into campsites in France and Spain with a twin axle caravan in perhaps a separate thread!. Suffice to say half the campsites wont let us in , municipal ones need to get authorisation a week before, and when you do get in, the sites like we are in now are physically 'difficult' to fit it in. I imagine I need to do a search on here for this subject, although i should've done that earlier (or at least better than I did) of course.....
thanks
