I applied for a Halifax Clarity card online and it was all done and dusted in just over a week. I have previously used my PO card for purchases abroad, but have taken out the Halifax one for cash withdrawals. I shall make a payment to the card before I go, which will put the card in credit and make a second payment by DD during the month while we are away.
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

You will be in breach of their terms and conditions if you do and they may return the money to the account it was drawn from and charge you.

I have never had a problem doing this in the past and frequently overpay on my CFCs. Indeed, if you make a regular SO payment this is likely to occur.
T&cs state Halifax Clarity Card
'6. ALLOCATION OF PAYMENTS
6.1 If you pay more than the amount due shown on your statement, we will use any remaining payment to pay off Transactions that have not yet appeared on your statement in the same order as those that do appear on your statement. In this condition, "Transaction" includes the amount of the Purchase, Cash Withdrawal, Cheque or Balance Transfer plus any interest, charges or insurance payment charged as a result of that Transaction.'
I went into Halifax today. The man said that an overpayment might be rejected, but he also said that it was very unlikely! The worse case scenario is that I will have to pay the interest until the dd pays the balance on receipt of the statement, or I will just transfer money from my Lloyds account when I take cash out. Isn't the internet a wonderful thing?!
