Hurray!
Just checked the Post Office website again regarding the IDP and discovered that instead of making a 100 mile round trip to get a permit we can now get them from our local Post Office (a 3 mile round trip!) It would appear they are now far more widely available, which has to be good news if we need to get them.

"need" I think it's fair to say......

XVI yes?

As well is two words!

very easy to get( just in case from) a post office probably quite near most people there is a list on the post office website. It cost £5.50 and is valid for 3 years make sure you ask for the right one it has a different code from the 1 year. Took a few minutes for the clerk to write out.

I`m travelling out on April 1st so picked one up from my local post office yesterday, just to be safe. It took a couple of minutes, you need your UK licence, a passport photo, and £5.50.

According to the March edition of Whice Magazine it looks like EHIC’s won’t be valid in the event of a no deal Brexit. Their advice is to ensure you have a health component to your travel insurance.

Ireland is advising all UK Nationals living in Ireland that they will not be able to drive on UK licences after March if it is a no deal. They will have to be exchanged for Irish licenses.

https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2019/feb/22/uk-driving-licences-will-not-be-va........

The reciprocal arrangement will end . I expect UK visitors will need an International driving permit in that case.
I exchanged mine a few months ago as I saw the way things were going. No mention of NI licenses though so probably OK.
