Thanks DK. We're travelling to Eurotunnel right now.
Have just been reading about your recent adventure, it sounds as if you had a good time and are now feeling more confident about future road trips to Europe.👍
Thanks for the kind words.
I did road trips in Europe extensively in my car until 2008 due to changes in circumstances, so driving in EU was not an issue as such.
However, it has been a while, and it is a whole new ballgame camping with a dog and driving with a bigger vehicle.
I still have not visited any of the special aires where one can stay the night. However, I did see one when I drove to the vets. I shall investigate a bit more in 2025 when I am touring France.
In the meantime, I shall plan to stay overnight at campsites to break up the long journeys.
Enjoy your trip, and if you know of a way so that I don't have to get out of my van in order to check in at LeShuttle (its new name apparently), then please let me know to save my future embarrassment!
Mind you, I had difficulties using ticket barriers in my car, so it may be something to do with not parking close enough for the screens.
