Thanks everyone -some useful titbits amongst that lot - didn;t expect so many replies!

Plan for cooking is using the cadac with Paella pan for most things and possibly gettings a small slow cooker to try this year and see how that goes. Don't have an oven in ours and don't miss it to be honest and the extra full size under stove cupboard is very useful!

We try and use the markets when we can as well for shopping as often the food is much fresher although not necessarily cheaper. Found meat and fish very expensive last year in Charente region from the markets. And yes whoever mentioned Toulouse sauages - we love those aswell!
