I'm not sure that anyone actually does 'Camping' insurance.
We've been talking today and all 'Holiday Insurance' seems to cover everything from cancellation or curtailment, illness, repatriation, luggage loss, etc., and some of these are inappropriate for caravanners. I'm sure there is a case for specialist insurance for those who are driving to their destination, taking their own equipment with them, who require no frills insurance. There is also a case for just having 'illness and repatriation cover' rather than all the other add ons which are offered. Red Pennant Personal cover may provide only this, but is so then it's nearly as expensive as taking out a combined breakdown and personal cover package.
It doesn't seem easy to find, so if anyone has any suggestions for when we renew they would be very much appreciated.
We found one that covered everything but only £250 contents , if nothing else is available we will most likely go with this one

Isurance is about risk. It unlikely any insurer would cover £100s worth of gear left unattended under a piece of cloth.
As apposed to a tin can with 1000's worth of gear that's easier and less conspicuous to break into than a bit of cloth .
The caravan club we tried today so thanks to the suggester but it doesn't really cater for tents and was extremely expensive
The search continues
