Hi,

We were at I Pini on the northern side of Rome at the end of May last year. They run a coach into Rome every day for 7€ . A 4* site, bar, restaurant, pool and it was not too busy, lots of choice for pitches with easy access from A1 M/way.

Also stayed at a site between Florence and Pisa where there was a regular train service into Florence, the station was about a 5-10 minute drive from campsite. There is another site just N. of Florence, I think it is called International or similiar.

In Rome we usually stay at Happy, we have also stayed at Flaminio, nearest to Rome, and Tiber at Prima Porta. Another site is Camping Roma with frequent buses into town. All of these have very quick and easy access into Rome. Happy and Tiber provide a half hourly mini bus service to and from the train station which then takes 20 mins to Rome for €1

Flaminio is on the main road into Rome and buses stop at the campsite every few minutes.

Michelangelo at Florence is very close and you can easily go into the city by foot, bicycle or on the bus which stops at the campsite.

For Venice there are so many most of them over the lagoon. Cavallinio is nice and there are frequent buses to the ferry.

We found iPini expensive and too far from anywhere. Camping Roma is a big well organised site.It is easy to find . Bus outside to Vatican 10 mins. Happy Camp is OK but again a bit remote There is also a large very secure sosta which is the cheapest and easiest to find but is a bus and train ride from Rome ( about 40 mins ) www.planetcamper.com

A combined daily train tram bus ticket is 4 euros unlimited use !!!

Can't recommend any in particular as its 20+ years since I camped in Florence and Rome, but www.camping.it is quite a useful resource.
