bait and other tackel can be got at the local tabac / restaurant   plus they do a nice stake but you must book

Also tiny bar/restaurant, turn right out of site and about 5 mins drive away - basic food but incredible value for money.  May have to book and from memory closed Thursdays.

same place !. we were there in october and it was open on thursdays but it may now close

We were there in April- the site is indeed lovely, very idylic with pools with slides the kids loved!

We went to Paris with the site it drops you off round the corner from the Arc di Triamph (sp) and worked out cheaper than doing it yourself (we checked)

Parc asterix is relatively close and a great day out - even with our kids (5,6 and 11) there were lots of fun rides we could all go on together.

I had a peek at the shower blocks in the touring area and they were pretty much brand new and immaculate, laundry facilities were also new and very clean- just remember toilet roll, even when going to the on site restaurant(nice but v. expensive)!

You'll have a great time- don't let the sight of the Enormouse sugar refinery at the entrance to the town put you off!

ps go to the chateau at Pierefonds 1/2 hour by car as its very spectacular inside and out

We were there a few years ago and had a great time.  We camped with a tour operator in one of their tents.  Visited Paris and Disneyland while we were there.  A visit to the old world war II caves is a must, ah brings back memories we got lost up in the woods where the caves were came down a totally different path to the one we went up and ended up in a different village!!  It wasn't funny at the time but we laugh about it now.  Ended up walking for miles and not one of us spoke a word of french to ask directions.  I'm sure you'll have a great time, its on our list of sites that we'd like to visit again, I think its even got a lakeside beach now which it didn't when we were there.

we have been to this site 3 times but staying in the statics. It is large and has recently expanded .We saw a guy catch a massive fish using french breaf as the bait !!!

if you turn right out of the campsite and head down for a couple of miles you will come to the tabac called chez michelline and here they are especially friendly didier speaks fab english and is great with the kids the food is basic but nice and a good atmosphere.the swimming pools on site are good

have a great time

|Well thanks for all your help guys we did have a wonderful time. THe site owner is a real laugh, the site was as described,

Didn't see Swansea Jack despite looking, but we were pitched in a hugh pitch between two statics next to the river, a super setting.

We are now going to go back in AUgust, however the thing that let this trip down this year was the really poor wether.

but better luck next time.
