We plan to use the A16 and A28 to Poitiers.  Our campervan logbook shows the class as "disabled" . I saw on a French web page that drivers whose carte gris (eqivalent to log book ?) shows "disabled"  travel at the  1 rate level below normal - in our case that would be the private car rate. I can't find a contact to ask about this. Can anyone help please,

I'm posting a reply on this because it's subject worth keeping in front of everyone. If you are a "blue badge" holder I believe that there is some reductions available to you; hopefully some-one who makes use of the scheme will add something?

Previous threads indicated that just being a blue badge holder or having a vehicle that is exempt from road tax because it is used by a disabled person is not sufficiant to qualify for reduced road tolls. The vehicle must be modified for disabled use in some way to qualify for the reduction and the modifications shown on the registration document. My sisters car registration also has disabled on it because she is exempt from paying road tax but the car is not modified in any way.

All you have to do is show your blue badge to the toll booth attendant, they will then charge you quite a bit less than the normal rate. We did this earlier this year on three separate roads.

How annoying, why should you get a reduction because you are disabled.  Whilst I agreee with the somewhat abused parking spaces allocated to disabled drivers at supermarkets, cinemas etc, I cant quite see how offering a discount to disabled drivers on tolls roads is fair to everyone else.

What next, discounts on airfares/ferry crossings!
